Definition
Draw No Bet (DNB) is a football betting market where you back a team to win, but if the match ends in a draw, your stake is refunded. It eliminates one of the three possible outcomes, reducing your risk. DNB is equivalent to an Asian Handicap 0 bet.
How It Works
You pick a team to win. If they win, you collect your winnings at the offered odds. If the match is a draw, you get your stake back (push). If your team loses, you lose your stake. Because the draw outcome is removed, DNB odds are lower than standard 1X2 win odds but higher than double chance (1X or X2).
Example
Liverpool vs Tottenham, Draw No Bet Liverpool at odds 1.55, stake $80:
- Liverpool wins 2-1: profit = 80 x (1.55 - 1) = $44
- Draw 1-1: stake of $80 refunded (no profit, no loss)
- Tottenham wins 1-0: loss of $80
Why It Matters
DNB is a popular safety net for bettors who like a team to win but are nervous about the draw. It sits between a full 1X2 bet (higher risk, higher reward) and a double chance (lower risk, lower reward) in terms of both risk and payout. Since DNB is mathematically identical to Asian Handicap 0, you can compare prices across both markets to find the best odds. It is especially useful in accumulators where one drawn match would otherwise kill the entire parlay.
